Clare Waight Keller, the designer who created Meghan Markle’s wedding gown and has held positions as a designer and creative director at luxury houses like Gucci, Givenchy, and Chloé, is now venturing into the world of casual apparel as the new Creative Director at UNIQLO.

Hailing from the UK, Clare began her career in the 1990s in New York City, initially working as an accessory designer for American brands such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. In 2000, she joined Gucci, where she worked under the direction of Creative Director Tom Ford, contributing to the design of women’s ready-to-wear and accessories. In 2011, Clare joined the luxury brand Chloé as Creative Director, infusing the brand’s elegant essence with a more modern, intellectual approach to femininity, building a more comprehensive image of the modern woman.

In 2017, Clare became the Creative Director of Givenchy, making history as the brand’s first female in that role. During her tenure, she introduced Givenchy’s first men’s haute couture collection and designed Meghan Markle’s iconic wedding gown for her 2018 marriage to Prince Harry.

In September 2023, Clare collaborated with UNIQLO to launch the UNIQLO: C series. Starting from the 2024 Fall/Winter collection, she will take full control of the main UNIQLO lines, overseeing both men’s and women’s collections. Are you ready for UNIQLO’s exciting new style?
